Kid's Triathlon info 8/14/16

Here's one for them to try!  We had a lot of interest in class....Good luck!!

JCC triathlon 5/15/16

These pictures are from the JCC triathlon in Marblehead.  I shared them with my classes to show them what a triathlon is.  We had a question and answer time about what a triathlon is; swimming, biking and running, and how it's part of a healthy lifestyle.  As always, I promote fitness as a way of life and give the students examples on how to live it!

4th graders holding their "miles" run for their virtual Boston Marathon!

This is Mrs. Merlino's 4th grade class holding up the miles they ran today in class.  Our goal was to run 1 lap to equal 1 mile.  Each student ran at least 2 laps and some ran 3 laps.  We previewed the Boston Marathon course map, learned about it's history, what cities it goes through and ran a "virtual" Boston Marathon of 26 miles! My goal was to give them a feeling of running the Boston Marathon and hopefully someday, some of them will!
